Drug and alcohol abuse is a global issue and Mexico is not the exception. We were faced with this harsh reality when we discovered that when one of our girls from the Kids Friends Club in the neighborhood of El Colli suffered from drug and alcohol addiction in their later teenage years. After finding a rehabilitation center for her, our eyes were opened to the possibility that this was a place we needed to serve and make a sustainable difference. To this day we have had the privilege of providing seven different rehabilitation centers with essential supplies such as bunk beds, personal hygiene items, shoes, clothing, food and life-changing literature. We have also hosted expert speakers to educate community leaders and rehabilitation patients in Guadalajara on best practices for identifying and remedying a variety of abusive behaviors and addictions.
